We will be staying in comfortable self-catering accommodation in the beautiful, unspoilt village of Vallouise, which sits astride the River Gyr on the eastern edge of the Ecrins Massif, thirty minutes drive south of the historic fortress town of Briançon (a 2 hour stunning drive, south-east of Grenoble).
Our week will be spent scaling sports routes, multi-pitch climbs and Via Ferratas on the many wonderful crags and spires that surround us.
Not only will we be climbing on the superb limestone that we have come to expect of southern Europe, but also on water-worn granite that lends itself to some of the friendliest hand-holds you'll ever find, and friction so good you'll have trouble unsticking your boots.
