Tariff and Calendar of Events - 2008

On this page you will find our complete Tariff and Calendar of Events. You can choose from our scheduled courses and holidays or plan your own visit (either by joining a scheduled course for part of the time, joining other people in a group, or by hiring a personal guide for an activity or activities of your choice).

Multi-activity breaks: Pick two (2) to four (4) activities (1 day or half day each) to make up your weekend from: abseiling, climbing, scrambling, walking, navigation and kayaking.

Extra navigation courses have been scheduled due to popular demand.

Private (Exclusive) Guiding

Our staff are available for personal, one-to-one guiding and instruction. The daily price (below) for our Private (Exclusive) Guiding service includes use of all technical equipment as required. Rates are dependent upon the number in your party. Private Guiding is available throughout the year. Clients are responsible for their own incidental expenses.

Shared (Non-exclusive) Guiding / Tutoring

If you cannot make our specific course dates, but are available at other times and don't mind sharing your experience with other people, Go Higher provides Shared (non-exclusive) Guiding (also referred to as Tutoring) at competetive rates in all disciplines throughout the year. The daily rate (per person per day - pppd) includes use of all technical equipment as required. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and availability.

Lakeland Courses and Holidays

We also offer set courses and holidays covering a range of activities and locations throughout the year. Prices are in £s per person and include expert instruction and technical equipment including helmets, harnesses, and rock shoes. Courses may be booked with or without accommodation (accommodation is at an additional charge - see below).

Holidays in the United Kingdom and Abroad

In addition to Lakeland courses and holidays, Go Higher offers guided holidays elsewhere in the United Kingdom and abroad. Prices are in £s per person and inclusions vary dependent upon the holiday (but usually include guiding and equipment fees, internal transport at the destination and accommodation). Accommodation at High Dyon Side

When booked in conjunction with a course, High Dyon Side accommodation includes a light packed lunch and transport between High Dyon Side and the activity venue. The prices below are per person per night.

Transfers: Between local railway and coach depots of Distington, Workington and Whitehaven can be arranged free of charge. Transfers from Penrith can be provided at a cost of £25.00.

Booking Conditions

Payment: A non-returnable deposit of £50 per person for UK holidays or £100 per person for overseas holidays is payable at the time of booking, with the balance due six (6) weeks before the holiday/course begins.

Cancellation: Charges will be made at the following rate: for cancellation 28 days prior to holiday/course or earlier = deposit; for cancellations within 27 days of holiday/course = 50% of the total holiday/course cost; for cancellations within two weeks of holiday/course start = 100% of the total holiday/course cost. We recommend you take out cancellation insurance.

Changes: Go Higher reserves the right to alter, amend, or cancel any activities should the weather or any other situation demand this. In the unlikely event of your holiday being cancelled by Go Higher your full payment will be refunded.

Insurance: There are dangers in all mountain activities. Our aim is to minimise the risks and help you enjoy the mountains as safely as possible. Go Higher carries professional liability insurance. We recommend that you also take out adequate personal insurance against cancellation, accident, loss of equipment, etc. In the case of overseas holidays this should include personal liability and rescue and recovery insurance.
